For high-mix, low-volume production

Factory-ready
AI visual inspection

We implement AI inspection around your products, quality requirements, and production line. Your team can introduce similar products and variants in minutes, without retraining, within the implemented process. Extending inspection to similar lines and adjacent processes is straightforward and effective.

Inspection technology

Modular AI visual inspection

Tekai combines its own computer-vision models, image processing, and foundation models to inspect products on your production line. We implement this for the process and quality requirements. A reusable core architecture supports expansion to similar lines and adjacent processes, while standard industrial cameras keep capital costs low without proprietary hardware, also in multi-image inspections such as THT.

Anomaly detection

Detect known and unknown defects

Tekai’s AI identifies anomalies beyond predefined defect types and flags them for operator review. This extends inspection to problems your team may not have anticipated, helping you catch new defects before shipment and maintain quality as production changes.

Coverage for a changing product mix

Inspection can cover a wide range of products, including simultaneous product variants, when implementation is complete. We agree on the coverage for your process. Built-in tools let your team add similar products and variants in minutes within the implemented process, without retraining. New product categories need only limited, targeted retraining. This reduces the setup work that makes short production runs expensive and time-consuming to automate.

Process optimization through defect data

Enable process improvement based on defect data

The system saves defect images, their locations and related metadata, giving your quality team evidence to investigate issues and choose corrective actions. These records enable process improvement based on defect data, so inspection supports both instant quality control and medium- to long-term process development.

Inspection approaches

AOI and ML vs. AI visual inspection

Conventional automated optical inspection (AOI) and traditional machine-learning approaches require continuous data collection, engineering and configuration work to keep up the automation against new products.

Tekai combines computer vision, image processing, and foundation models to inspect a broad product mix and flag unfamiliar anomalies. Within the implemented process, your team can add similar products and variants in minutes without retraining, and new product categories need only limited retraining. This significantly reduces repeated setup work.

Our implementation process

  1. 01

    Agree on requirements

Your team shares its automation goals and quality requirements. Together, we review the line(s), production environment, and constraints to define an optimal inspection solution setup.

  2. 02

    Set up image collection

We plan camera coverage for the process and enable capturing images needed to implement the AI. We plan together a visual data collection that aligns with your production process.

  3. 03

    Test the implemented solution

Tekai implements the AI and inspection logic for your process. Your team then tests and validates the solution in a production-like environment before live deployment.

  4. 04

    Integrate into production

Once your team validates the solution, we deploy it on the line and integrate it with your production systems and operator workflows.

About Tekai

FAQ

Product changes and expansion

  1. 01

How do we extend inspection to another line?

On a line running a similar process, Tekai can reuse the existing architecture and AI components. We add the cameras the task requires and verify image quality before extending inspection. Similar lines can be replicated in weeks. When moving to an adjacent process additional data collection, implementation, and validation is needed.

  2. 02

Do new products require model retraining?

Not for similar products and variants. Within the implemented process, your administrators use the built-in tools in the AI visual inspection application to register and activate similar products and variants in minutes without retraining the model. A new product category needs only limited, targeted retraining with Tekai. A new process requires additional data and implementation with Tekai, followed by validation. Changes to inspection requirements may also need further implementation and validation.
